BALTIMORE –
Erin Shaw totaled a career-high seven kills, and
Victoria Wong fired in seven aces to help Notre Dame of Maryland University volleyball record a fourth-consecutive sweep with a 3-0 win over Trinity Washington University on Tuesday. Set scores were 25-7, 25-10, 25-9.
The Gators (6-6) finished with a 26-2 edge in aces and an overall team attack percentage of .276.
Candace Forgach-Aguilar also set a new career best on the service line with six aces, while
Ciarra Bockstie and
Rosemary O'Brien added five kills apiece.
Other Gators with multiple aces included
Natalie Newton (3),
Sam Gamble (2), Shaw (2) and
Mackenzie Snodgrass (2). Newton and Snodgrass finished with seven assists each, and
Paulina Hernandez led the defense with five digs.
Elora Taala chipped in her first two collegiate kills while adding a pair of digs.
NDMU is now 5-3 at MBK Sports Complex on the year. The Gators' next four matches will all be against CSAC opponents, beginning with their conference opener at Saint Elizabeth University on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
