Chambersburg, Pa.– The Notre Dame of Maryland women's soccer team fell in their road matchup with Wilson College losing by a score of 4-1 on Wednesday, Oct. 4.  
 
The Gators (3-5 Overall, 1-2 United East) struggled to maintain possession early in the contest. The Phoenix (9-3 Overall, 3-0 United East) took the early lead, scoring in the 19th minute. NDMU quickly made some adjustments and slowed Wilson's attack, keeping the score 1-0 at the half. 

NDMU continued to play strong defense throughout the second half, keeping the Phoenix from finding the back of the net during the first 30 minutes of the half. Wilson finally broke through, scoring three goals in a six-minute span to grab a commanding 4-0 lead. The Gators fought back scoring in the 88th minute when Laura Lang found Tchala Ungwa on a cross in the box, allowing Ungwa to head in a goal. Ungwa has now scored three goals this season.  

WHO'S NEXT? 
The Gators will return home to host Saint Elizabeth University in a United East matchup on Saturday, Oct. 7. The kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM. Before the game NDMU will hold Senior Day, honoring the four senior members of the women's soccer team.
