Chestertown, MD- The Notre Dame of Maryland women's basketball team fell in their road matchup against Washington College, falling by a score of 83-53 on Saturday, Nov. 11.
The Shorewomen raced out to an early lead, scoring the first seven points of the game. Amani Watts got the Gators on the board, converting two free throws and then Amya Durham connected on a jump shot, cutting the deficit down to three. Washington College went on a 10-4 run to end the opening quarter, lead 21-8 heading to the second quarter. The Shorewomen surged to a 22-point lead early in the second quarter, before Ny'Asia Futrell connected on a pair of 3-pointers. Chantel Curry and Thalia Kayiranga converted free throws before the end of the half, but NDMU trailed by 19 points at the break.
NDMU could not cut into the deficit in the third quarter but managed to keep pace with Washington College throughout the quarter. The Gators got the free throw line throughout the quarter, with Charlie Henry and Yasmeen Yussuf converting multiple free throw attempts. The Gators could not mount a rally, eventually falling by a score of 83-53.

Watts led the Gators in scoring, recording 12 points and eight rebounds.
