BALTIMORE- The Notre Dame (Md.) women's lacrosse team could not keep pace with Marymount University, falling to the Saints by a score of 21-4 on Tuesday, Mar. 21 at Alumni Field
The Gators were led by
Jade Stewart who scored twice and collected six draw controls.
Makaylah Reyes scored her first career goal and also gathered up three ground balls.
Emma Alascia scored her ninth goal of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gators (0-7 Overall) struggled to maintain possession throughout the early portion of the first quarter. The Saints (6-4 Overall) capitalized, scoring the first five goals of the game. Stewart got NDMU on the board, taking an advantage of Marymount penalty and scoring a goal. The Saints dominated the rest of the first half, scoring nine more goals to take a 14-1 lead at the half.
NDMU found some success midway through the third quarter. Stewart collected an offensive rebound and fired a shot into the back of the cage for her second goal of the game. A minute later, Reyes finished a scoring opportunity in front of the net, earning her first career goal in the process. In the fourth quarter, Alascia converted a free position opportunity, scoring her ninth goal of the season. Marymount continued to pull away throughout the second half, securing the 21-4 victory.

The Gators will next be in action on Saturday, Mar. 25 when they face Trinity (D.C.) at 1:00 p.m. on Alumni Field.
