Reading, Pa.- The Notre Dame of Maryland men's soccer team picked up their second-straight win, defeating Penn State Berks by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
The Gators (2-1 Overall) took an early lead, scoring in the 20th minute thanks to an outstanding effort play by
Tassilo Lehmkuhl. Lehmkuhl dribble past several Lions defenders, rocketing a shot past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
NDMU extended their advantage in the 24th minute.
Hector Alvarez found space just outside the 18-yard box, and he delivered a perfect cross into the box.
Myles Tanksley made the most of the opportunity, sliding a shot inside the left post to give NDMU a 2-0 first half lead.
Penn State Berks (0-3-1 Overall) tried to climb back into the game in the second half, holding a 6-2 edge in shots. NDMU's goalkeeper
Mateo Gularte was up for the challenge, making a pair of key saves in the 78th and 88th minute to keep the Lions off the scoreboard.
