Box Score Arlington, Va.- The Notre Dame of Maryland men's soccer team battled with Marymount University, falling by a score of 1-0 on Friday, Sept. 15.
The Gators (2-2 Overall) battled the Saints (2-3-1 Overall) to a scoreless first half. NDMU struggled to generate quality scoring chances, but their defense frustrated Marymount's attack. Starting goalkeeper
Mateo Gularte made eight saves in goal to keep the Gators within striking distance.
NDMU created more scoring chance in the second half, starting when
Ruben Wahl launched a shot from outside the 18-yard box just over the top of the crossbar. In the 66th minute,
Cristo Sanchez Cabrera sent a free kick into the box, finding the head of
Myles Tanksley. Tanksley flicked the ball toward the goal, but the Saints keeper managed to make a save.
Marymount finally broke through in the 62nd minute, scoring to take a 1-0 lead. The Gators tried to mount a late rally but could not find a goal.

The Gators will return home to face Albright College on Monday, Sept 18. Kickoff is schedule for 4:00 PM.
