Cresson, Pa.- The Notre Dame of Maryland women's soccer team could not keep pace with Mount Aloysius, falling by a score of 10-1 on Saturday, Sept. 16.
The Gators (1-2 Overall) absorbed a ton of pressure throughout the first 30 minutes, but despite facing 12 shots NDMU kept the Mounties off the scoreboard. Mount Aloysius (1-3-2 Overall) broke through in the 40th minute, scoring to take a 1-0 lead into the half.
The Mounties had an offensive explosion to start the second half, netting seven goals in the first 17 minutes of the half to race out to an 8-0 lead. The Gators looked to create something positive when in the 75th minute
Tchala Ungwa drew a foul just outside of the box.
Kathryn DeGrange took the free kick and drove a shot across the goal that just crossed the goal line to give NDMU their first goal of the game. This was DeGrange's first collegiate goal. Mount Aloysius added two late goals on their way to the 10-0 victory.
WHO'S NEXT?
The Gators will return home to face Penn State Mont Alto on Wednesday, Sept 20. Kickoff is schedule for 4:00 PM.
