Reading, PA- The Notre Dame of Maryland Men's Soccer team fell to Albright College, losing by a score of 3-1 on Saturday, Sept. 21.
The Gators burst onto the field with an aggressive offensive onslaught, firing off four shots within the first ten minutes of the match. NDMU capitalize on the final opportunity as
Athanasios Ziliaskopoulos buried a shot in the back of the net, with an assist from
Hector Alvarez, giving the Gators a 1-0 lead. NDMU maintained the pressure on the Lions' offense, with goalkeeper
Gabriel Gendarme making two saves out of four shots faced, securing a 1-0 lead as they entered the second half.
In the second half, NDMU continued to apply pressure, generating numerous scoring chances.
Tassilo Lehmkuhl initiated the half with a quick shot that kept Albright's goalkeeper alert. He was soon followed by attempts from Ziliaskopoulos and
Maxime Baux, both of which tested the Lions' defense. However, Albright's offense refused to relent, ultimately scoring three second half goals to rally back and earn the 3-1 victory.
