Langhorne, Pa.- The Notre Dame of Maryland Men's Soccer team fell in a road conference match-up with Cairn University, dropping the match-up by a score of 3-1 on Saturday, Sept. 28.
NDMU got off to a solid start, creating several scoring chances in the opening 15 minutes.
Tassilo Lehmkuhl fired a pair of early shots including one that saved by the Highlander's goalkeeper at the last possible moment. Cairn settled into the game, control the final half an hour of the half, holding a 16-5 edge in first half shots. The Gators' goalkeeper
Mateo Gularte made several key saves to keep the match scoreless at the half, finishing the game with 15 saves.
Cairn grabbed momentum early in the second half, scoring twice in a three-minute span to build a 2-0 advantage. NDMU tried to fight back, scoring in the 64
th minute.
Martin Rasiwala played a ball to Lehmkuhl in a dangerous area and he capitalized, finding the back of the net to make the score 2-1. The Highlanders halted any further comeback attempt, scoring in the 86
th minute to secure a 3-1 victory.

The Gators will remain on the road, traveling to take on Saint Elizabeth University on Wednesday, Oct. 2. The kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM
