Baltimore, Md. - The Notre Dame of Maryland University Men's Basketball team held off a second half surge by the Washington College Shoremen to secure a win, 69-56 and surpass the number of most wins in program history. The Gators beat a Centennial Conference opponent for the first time and moved their record to 4-8. The Shoremen dropped to 4-7 with the loss.
NDMU and Washington College were tied at 6-6 in the first five minutes of play, NDMU went on a 9-0 run over the next two minutes to take a 15-6 lead. The Gators would lead by nine going into the half.
The Shoreman would get to within one with 11 minutes to go in the game. Clutch three-point shooting by
Chandler Johnson down the stretch, hard play by
Ahmad Harrison and Jermaine Koger, Jr had the Gators up by as many as 16 to finish the game with a victory.
Harrison led the Gators with 20 points, shooting 6-9 from the free throw line. While
Jahbreco Dacosta contributed ten points and Johnson contributed nine to round out the Gators' top scorers.
The Gators look to build on their win total and secure the program's first back-to-back wins as they hit the road to play Penn State-Brandywine on 1/4 at 3:30pm.
