Chester, PA — Notre Dame of Maryland dropped a 3–0 decision at Widener on Tuesday evening at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.
The Gators battled throughout the match, led by a strong performance from goalkeeper
Leah Hasberry, who tallied 10 saves against a relentless Pride offense that fired 35 total shots. Hasberry made five stops in each half to keep Notre Dame within reach.
Offensively,
Alex Busick registered the Gators' lone shot on goal, while
Olivia Messercola added another attempt. Notre Dame's defensive unit—anchored by
Tessa Wiles,
Madyson Costello,
Addison Barry, and
Kathryn DeGrange—fought to contain Widener's pressure in the midfield and attacking thirds.
Widener opened the scoring in the 16th minute on a goal from Mia Garofalo and doubled its lead in the 39th minute through Morgan Miller. The Pride added a third goal just after halftime from Isabella Losada to cap the scoring.
Sophie Wisniewski played a key role in the midfield, logging 89 minutes of action while drawing a yellow card in the first half as the Gators worked to disrupt the Widener rhythm.
With the result, Notre Dame (2–9–1) will look to rebound as they get back into United East Conference play as they travel to Keystone College on Saturday, October 18 at 4 PM.
