Gators Sweep Past Penn College 3-0

BALTIMORE, MD – Notre Dame of Maryland volleyball turned in one of its most dominant performances of the season on Saturday afternoon, sweeping Penn College 3–0 (25–9, 25–17, 25–15) at the Marion Burt Knott Sports Complex.

The Gators (13–5, 4–2 United East) controlled all three sets with a balanced offense and sharp serving, finishing the match with a .345 team hitting percentage and 15 service aces.

Kaliyah Brown led the way with 10.5 points on 7 kills, 3 aces, and 6 digs. Alyson Lackovic filled the stat sheet with 4 kills, 8 assists, 3 aces, and a block assist, while Shelbey Willson directed the attack with 20 assists, 4 digs, and 3 points. Izzy Stewart provided a spark at the service line, adding 4 aces and 11 digs.

At the net, Rosemary O'Brien made a strong impact with 3 kills and 2 solo blocks, and Jillian Shoultz chipped in 4 kills on .571 hitting. Aleah Johnson impressed in limited action, registering 3 kills and 4 service aces in the third set alone.

Notre Dame set the tone early with a 25–9 opening set, fueled by a 14–2 run behind Brown's serving and Lackovic's early aces. The Gators kept rolling in the second set, using timely kills from O'Brien and Shoultz to pull away late, then closed the match in straight sets as Johnson and Brown sealed the 25–15 finish.

As a team, Notre Dame tallied 36 kills to Penn College's 21, while holding the Wildcats (4–19, 1–5) to a .035 attack percentage.

The Gators return to United East play next week, looking to build on their four-match win streak as they continue their push toward locking up a spot in the postseason. Their next match will see them travel south to Gallaudet University on Wednesday, October 22 at 7 PM.
