Washington, D.C. – Notre Dame of Maryland University dropped a straight-set decision to Gallaudet on Wednesday night, as the Gators fell 25–12, 25–10, 25–18 in United East Conference action inside the Field House.
The Gators (13–6, 4–3 United East) battled through a tough offensive night, hitting .097 as a team while finishing with 26 kills and 32 digs. Senior outside hitter
Kaliyah Brown led Notre Dame with 10 kills and four digs, hitting .267 to pace the attack. Setter
Alyson Lackovic turned in an all-around effort with 13 assists, seven kills on .467 hitting, and eight digs.
Shelbey Willson added 10 assists, two kills, and a service ace, while
Izzy Stewart chipped in seven digs and an ace from the back row.
Gallaudet (20–5, 8–0 United East) extended its perfect conference record behind a dominant offensive performance, hitting .449 as a team with 46 kills. Jada Zarembka and Citrine Lummer led the Bison with 14 kills apiece, while setter Ella Gamble orchestrated the attack with 39 assists.
Notre Dame showed its strongest fight in the third set, rallying to a 17–17 tie before Gallaudet closed on an 8–1 run to seal the sweep.
The Gators return home for another United East Conference match as they host Keystone College on Saturday, October 25 at 6 PM. Keystone comes into the match with a 3-18 overall record and are 2-6 in conference play. NDM would clinch a spot in the playoffs with a win.
