Baltimore, MD - The Notre Dame of Maryland volleyball team put on a dominant performance Saturday evening, sweeping Keystone in straight sets (25–10, 25–18, 25–5) at the Marion Burt Knott Sports Complex. The win pushed the Gators to 14–6 overall and 5–3 in United East play, keeping them firmly in the hunt for a top postseason seeding. The Gators also celebrated senior day as the duo of
Elora Taala and
Rosemary O'Brien were honored in a pregame ceremony.
Sophomore standout
Kaliyah Brown led the way with a match-high 12 kills, hitting an impressive .579 while adding four service aces and eight digs for a 16.5-point outing.
Myla Palmer followed with seven kills and steady offense, while
Alyson Lackovic and
Gwen Abnett each chipped in five kills apiece. Lackovic also added 12 assists, one ace, and two blocks in an all-around effort.
Setter
Shelbey Willson directed the attack efficiently, dishing out 19 assists and serving up five aces, while
Elora Taala provided additional firepower with four kills and two blocks. Defensively, libero
Izzy Stewart anchored the back row with 10 digs, as Notre Dame held Keystone to a negative hitting percentage (-.092) on the night.
The Gators hit a strong .315 as a team and finished with 15 service aces and eight total blocks, controlling every facet of play.
Notre Dame will look to carry this momentum into its final week of United East Conference matches as the Gators next travel to Rosemont College on Tuesday, October 28 at 7 PM.
