LA PLUME, PA – Notre Dame of Maryland men's soccer put together one of its most complete performances of the season on Saturday, earning a 3–0 shutout victory over Keystone College in United East play.
The Gators (3–6–3, 3–2–1 United East) controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting the Giants 24–8 and scoring in both halves to secure their third conference win.
Myles Tanksley opened the scoring in the 13th minute, finishing a cross from
Pedro Lima for his first goal of the season. Lima continued his standout playmaking performance by assisting on all three Notre Dame goals.
In the 30th minute, Athanasios Ziliaskop doubled the lead with a composed finish in front of goal, again off a Lima assist. The Gators' midfield and back line limited Keystone's chances throughout the half, allowing only two shots on target.
Notre Dame sealed the result early in the second half when
Martin Rasiwala scored his second goal of the season in the 57th minute; Lima's third assist of the day.
Goalkeepers
Mateo Gularte and
Gabriel Gendarme combined for the clean sheet, with Gendarme making two saves in the second half. The Gators also dominated on set pieces, earning seven corner kicks while allowing none.
The win marks Notre Dame's second shutout in conference play and moves the team to sixth place in the United East Conference standings. The Gators return to action on Tuesday, October 21 for a 2 PM match against Wilson College.
