Gators Remain Undefeated at Home With 3-0 Sweep

Baltimore, MD – Notre Dame of Maryland volleyball delivered a dominant performance at the Marion Burt Knott Sports Complex on Thursday night, sweeping Penn State Mont Alto 3–0 (28–26, 25–17, 25–10) to improve to 9-4 overall and 1-1 in United East play.

The Gators battled through a tight opening set, rallying late to edge the Lions 28–26 including a 7-0 run while fending off six straight set points for Mont Alto. From there, NDMU seized control, riding strong serving and steady defense to close out the match in convincing fashion.

Kaliyah Brown powered the attack with a match-high 15 kills, adding 11 digs and three service aces for a double-double. Alyson Lackovic guided the offense with 16 assists, four aces, and nine digs, while Shelbey Willson chipped in 13 assists.

On the defensive end, Izzy Stewart anchored the back row with a team-best 15 digs, and Gwen Abnett provided a spark at the net with five kills and two blocks. Emily Gordon added seven kills, and Morgan Perzan and Carissa Tanseco each contributed timely serving pressure with aces.

Notre Dame's serving was a difference-maker all night, as the Gators combined for 11 aces to just one for Mont Alto. The team also outdug the Lions 50–43 and held their opponent to a .047 hitting percentage, compared to NDMU's .136.

With the win, the Gators will get back into United East Conference play when they host Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday, October 8 at 7 PM.
