Notre Dame of Maryland Women’s Soccer Falls at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, PA – The Notre Dame of Maryland women's soccer team showed grit on the road but was unable to slow down a high-powered Susquehanna attack in a 4–0 setback Wednesday evening at Sassafras Field

The Gators (0-3-0) held firm through the opening minutes behind strong goalkeeping from Leah Hasberry, who faced a barrage of shots all night. Susquehanna (2-3-0) broke through in the 13th minute on a strike from Ava Billmeyer, and added a second goal just before halftime to take control of the match.

Notre Dame continued to battle in the second half, but Susquehanna extended the margin with goals from Sydney Williams in the 50th minute and Olivia Baczor in the 86th. Despite the scoreline, Hasberry was stellar in net, recording 22 saves against 47 total shots faced, keeping the Gators within reach throughout the contest.

Though the offense struggled to create chances against Susquehanna's back line, the Gators gained valuable experience as they continue their early-season non-conference slate.

Notre Dame returns to action this weekend as it looks to bounce back and earn its first win of the 2025 campaign when they travel to Penn State-Schuylkill on Saturday, September 13 at 4 PM.
