Lehmkuhl Scores, Gators Fall 2-1

BALTIMORE, MD – Notre Dame of Maryland struck first but couldn't hold on, as Albright rallied to earn a 2–1 win Saturday afternoon at Alumnae Field.

The Gators (0-4-2) found their breakthrough in the 37th minute when Tassilo Lehmkuhl finished off a setup from Leon Awesso, giving Notre Dame an early 1–0 advantage. The Lions (4-1-1) responded just before halftime, however, as Anthony Carabasi converted in the 45th minute to knot the score at 1–1.

Albright continued to press in the second half and broke the deadlock in the 60th minute, when Martin Ramsay delivered what proved to be the game-winner.

Despite being outshot 30–6, Notre Dame stayed within reach thanks to a heroic effort in goal from Mateo Gularte, who recorded 14 saves, including several diving stops while under heavy pressure.

Notre Dame's defense held firm in the closing minutes, and the match ended with a flurry of cards issued after the 90th minute was concluded, including a red card to Albright's Ethan Beauchemin.

The Gators will get a week to rest before traveling to Penn State-Abington for their first United East Conference game of the regular season on Saturday, September 27 at 1 PM. This will be the first time the two programs have ever faced off against each other.
