LANCASTER, Pa. – The Notre Dame of Maryland University baseball team dropped a slugfest with Lancaster Bible (13-13, 8-3 UEC) on Wednesday afternoon, 19-13 on the road.
For the Gators (10-20, 5-6 UEC),
Hunter Beil went 4-for-6 with four RBI and two runs scored, while
Brennan Deremeik went 3-for-6 with two RBI and a run scored.
Chase Cichocki,
AJ Williams,
Ben Boyer,
Tyler Holton, and
Ryan Parks each had two hits in the game, part of an 18-hit attack. Beil and Holton both went yard.
Brendan Coulson took the loss, striking out one and walking four in 2.1 innings of work.
Notre Dame went up 1-0 early in the contest, as Cichocki stole home for the early lead. Falling behind 5-1 after one, the
Gators got three back in the second as Holton hit a two-run home run followed by Beil's home run to cut the deficit to 5-4.
The Gators pulled even on a Deremeik single that scored
Zane Cook.
After the Chargers pulled back in front by seven (13-6), the Gators would battle back again but only get to within two at 13-11 in the seventh on a two-run single by Beil that scored Parks and Holton.
Notre Dame hosts Cairn (Saturday) and Regent (Sunday) at Harford CC.
