BEL AIR, Md. - The Notre Dame of Maryland baseball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader against Regent University, losing game one 6-1 and game two 5-1.
Game One: Notre Dame of Maryland 1 - Regent University 6
The Royals jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, and never looked back.They scored three more runs in the sixth inning.
The Gators were able to push across their lone run of the game from a single from Jorden Kozak. The Gators went on to lose 6-1 in game one.
Aiden Miklas led the Gators with a 2-for-2 and one run performance. Ryan Parks and Kozak each had one hit.
Zane Cook pitched all seven innings, surrendering six hits and six runs while striking out two batters.
Game Two: Notre Dame of Maryland 1 - Regent University 5
In the first inning, the Royals scored one run to go ahead 1-0. Hunter Beil tied the game up for the Gators with an RBI double.
The game remained a standstill until the fifth inning when the Royals took the lead on a wild pitch. In the seventh inning, the Royals added three more runs to secure the victory over the Gators 5-1.
Braden Valle had two hits, while four other Gators provided one hit each.
Parks started on the mound and was charged with the loss, pitching six innings while allowing four hits and two runs with four strikeouts. Bradley Newcott and Joe Agrusti came on in relief to finish the final inning.
The Gators look to bounce back as they host Lancaster Bible for a home conference contest on Tuesday afternoon.
