HANOVER, Md. - The Gators lost to conference rivals Lancaster Bible 5-11 after a tough offensive battle.
Brennan Deremeik got the Gators started early with an RBI single to take the lead 1-0 in the first inning.
The Blazers took the lead in the second inning and continued to add runs to build a 6-1 lead to start the bottom of the fourth inning.
Hunter Beil and
Zane Cook delivered at the plate to score three runs to cut the deficit to 6-4.
The Blazers added five more runs over the remaining innings, which the Gators could not overcome, losing 11-5.
Chase Cichocki led the Gators offensively going, 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Cook added two RBI's, while Deremeik added a pair of hits.
Brayden Valle started on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings, allowing nine hits and eight runs (five earned).
Matthew Murdock and
Rhys Eder came in relief to pitch the remaining innings.
