Baseball vanquishes Knights in final regular season home game

HANOVER, Md. – The Notre Dame of Maryland University baseball team closed its home schedule on Thursday by defeating Central Penn College by a 5-4 score at Joe Cannon Stadium.

Brennan Deremeik and Ben Boyer had two hits each, while Chase Cichocki and Hunter Beil each hit safely in the win. Beil drove in two runs, with Deremeik and AJ Williams each driving in a run.

Williams drove in the eventual game-winning run as he walked with the bases loaded, scoring Anthony Venable. The Gators had pulled even in the seventh as Tyler Holton scored on a throwing error.

Notre Dame took a 1-0 lead after the first, as Deremeik tripled to right scoring Cichocki.

After the Knights pulled ahead 2-1 in the third, Beil hit a two-run home run in the third that scored him and Deremeik.

Central Penn would pull back in front in the fourth on a bases-loaded walk and a hit by pitch.

Notre Dame heads to Wilson on Sunday.
