Baseball drops a heartbreaker at PSU-Abington, 11-10

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Notre Dame of Maryland University baseball team rallied to take a 10-9 lead in the ninth, only to see PSU-Abington plate two in the bottom of the ninth as the Nittany Lions (19-8, 6-3 UEC) eeked out a 11-10 win over the Gators (5-18, 2-4 UEC) on Tuesday.

Mark Reineke and Brennan Deremeik each had three hits on the day, while Ryan Parks had two hits for the Gators. Hunter Beil had four RBI, including a three-run home run in the third inning.

Trailing 9-5 heading into the eighth, Notre Dame plated one run in the inning on a RBI double by Reineke that scored Parks.

In the ninth, Tyler Holton walked with the bases loaded to score Zane Cook. Parks then walked to score Deremeik, before a free pass to Chase Cichocki scored Anthony Venable to tie the score at 9-all

Another walk, this time to Beil, scored Holton for the 10-9 lead.
