Northborough, Mass. – The Notre Dame of Maryland Women's Lacrosse team was recognized for their work in the classroom as it was named an Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Additionally, the Gators had three of its members – Ariana Rodriguez, Jillian Seay, and Adrienne Villa – named to the Academic Honor Roll, the organization announced this afternoon.

For a team to be eligible to be named an Academic Honor Squad, a team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.

To be eligible for the IWLCA Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

Rodriguez, a junior Biology Pre-Medicine student from Haslet, Texas, finished third on the team with six goals and eight points, including a hat-trick against Bryn Mawr on March 25^th.

Seay, a senior Political Science student from Baltimore, was third on the team with 12 ground balls; the defender ended the season with a best three ground balls against St. Mary's in the United East tournament.

Villa, a junior Business student from Baltimore, caused nine turnovers, which led the Gators. The defender scored two goals and assisted twice this season, a personal best.
