Women’s Volleyball Battles with McDaniel

BALTIMORE – The Notre Dame of Maryland women's volleyball team fought hard against McDaniel this evening inside the MBK Sports Complex, but despite a 20-kill performance from Bryanna Carter and double-doubles from Kaliyah Brown and Aleah Johnson, the Green Terror bested the Gators by a 3-1 scoreline.

NDMU hit .250 for the match and out-killed McDaniel 51-48; the Gators' defense recorded 64 digs to the Green Terrors' 51 as they held McDaniel to a .147 attack percentage.

The three sets McDaniel claimed were by a combined seven points, while NDMU's set two win was by a 25-12 scoreline.

Carter's 20 kills was on a .341 attack percentage as she becomes the first player other than reigning United East Player of the Year Brielle Worley (Gallaudet) to exceed 20 kills in a match in the conference this season.

Brown recorded her second double-double of the season with 16 kills and ten digs while hitting .243. Brown also led the team with three aces, all of which were on consecutive points to end set two.

Johnson's first double-double in 2026 saw her assist 20 times and notch ten digs.

Libero Izzy Stewart led the Gators with 16 digs, while Carissa Tanseco followed with 13 digs.

Setter Oliviya Rodriguez notched 22 helpers.

The Gators are back in action on Saturday at the Messiah Tri-Match.
