Comeback Falls Short for Women’s Volleyball Versus Penn State York

BALTIMORE – The Notre Dame of Maryland women's volleyball team fought hard to come back from a two-set deficit against Penn State York on Wednesday evening inside the MBK Sports Complex, but the Nittany Lions ended the match with a 3-2 decision in their favor.

The Gators' offense struggled in sets one and two before they took set three 26-24. The Gators hit .378 in set four to force the decisive fifth set.

For the match, NDMU hit .151 to PSU York's .252.

Bryanna Carter led the Gators with 21 kills on a .366 attack percentage.

Kaliyah Brown had 19 kills and led all players with 22 digs, a career-high for the senior.

Oliviya Rodriguez assisted 49 times, a new career-high for the freshman and the newest single-game high mark in the United East Conference this season. She notched a double-double, adding in 12 digs. She also had four kills and three aces.

Libero Izzy Stewart recorded 19 digs and led NDMU with five aces, and Carissa Tanseco had 17 digs off the bench.

The Gators are back in action on Saturday when they host Saint Francis in a doubleheader.
