Box Score Rosemont, Pa. -- Notre Dame of Maryland University defeated Rosemont College 14-6 to gain their third Colonial States Athletic Conference victory of the season.
The Gators were led by senior
Molly Murray (Aberdeen, Md.) with four goals and one assist. Senior
Alli Terry (Towson, Md./Catholic) notched three goals and an assist. Terry is now five goals away from the Notre Dame career school record for goals.
Sophomores
Brittany Peddicord (Timonium, Md./Dulaney), Kate Donadio (Reistertown, Md./Franklin) and
Katie Johnston (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) each recorded two goals. Sophomore
Tessa Schwartz (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) scored her first goal of the season.
After the Ravens opened the game with a goal, Notre Dame scored six straight goals. Terry began the rally by scoring her first of the game less than a minute later. Peddicord and Johnston each scored a goal in the next three minutes to give the Gators a 3-1 lead, with Terry assisting on Johnston's. Terry and Murray then scored goals within a minute of each other, and Terry added her third of the game at the 15 minute mark for the Notre Dame 6-1 advantage.
After the hosts managed to stop the Gators run, Peddicord knocked in her second of the game. Murray then scored back-to-back goals just 1:54 apart to give Notre Dame a 9-2 lead at the break.
Johnston scored her second of the game two minutes into the half to extend the lead to 10-2 before Rosemont answered two minutes later.
Donadio joined the scoring for the Gators by scoring her two goals in a row over the next six minutes before a fourth Ravens goal gave Notre Dame a 12-4 advantage with just under 15 minutes left to play.
With 11 minutes remaining, Schwartz picked up her first goal of the season off a Murray pass. Murry then added her game-leading fourth goal from Peddicord. Two goals by the hosts in the last three minutes gave the Gators the 14-6 victory.
Senior goalkeeper
Emily Langton (Mays Landing, N.J./Holy Spirit) recorded nine saves on the way to her third victory of the season.
Notre Dame, 5-5, 3-3 in league play, returns to action Wednesday afternoon as they will host in-state rival Hood College in nonconference action. The team will celebrate the careers of their seniors Saturday as they host Centenary College in another CSAC matchup.
