Box Score 2 Baltimore, Md. -- Notre Dame of Maryland University split their Colonial States Athletic Conference softball doubleheader with Rosemont College, taking the opener 8-0 in five innings, and falling in the nightcap 10-1.

Ashley Fallon (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood) and freshman
Meghan O'Connor (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) led the Gators offense with three hits each. Fallon added a double while O'Connor knocked a triple. O'Connor and senior
Brea Kehr (Dundalk, Md./Bridgewater College) tied for the team lead by scoring three runs each.
Senior pitcher
Tawny Cevora (Norfolk, Va./Lake Taylor) finished the day with eight strikeouts.
In the opener, sophomore
Wendi Winkelman (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco) doubled, scoring both O'Connor and Kehr to give Notre Dame a 2-0 lead after the first inning. O'Connor would then score in the third inning on a wild pitch to move the Gators advantage to 3-0.
Notre Dame would then use a five-run fourth inning to improve to the lead to 8-0 for the victory. Cevora doubled to score both sophomore
Naimani Staley (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) and freshman
Jennifer Whiting (Perry Hall, Md.), and would then score on O'Connor's triple. A Kehr single scored O'Connor, and Kehr would score off a Cevora single to give Notre Dame the final 8-0 score.
The teams would be tied 1-1 after the first inning in the nightcap, with Kehr scoring on a ball hit by Fallon. However, the Notre Dame bats would go quiet as Rosemont would power to the 10-1 victory.
Notre Dame returns to action on Saturday as they will take on Baptist Bible College in a game that will also serve as Senior Day for Fallon and Kehr. The game will be played at Druid Hill Park.
