Trio of softball student-athletes named to United East All-Conference squad

LATHAM, N.Y. – Three members of the Notre Dame of Maryland University softball team were lauded with All-United East All-Conference honors on Tuesday morning.

The conference released its All-Conference honors, as voted on by the coaches. Coaches nominated their own players but were not allowed to vote for them.

Headlining the selections was first-team outfield selection Julianna Leatherwood. Gabriella Allred was named second team At-Large, while pitcher Malorie Gogel was named third-team pitcher.

Leatherwood, a third-team selection at Utility last season, led the Gators in nearly every statistical category. She batted a team-best .479 with 45 hits, nine doubles, six triples, and 24 RBI. She slugged .734, while starting and playing in all 30 games. Her batting average was the third-best in the United East.

Allred, who played in 21 games this season, batted .407 with 24 hits, three doubles, and 11 RBI.

Gogel enjoyed a standout season as the team's main pitcher. She went 7-10 in 20 appearances with a 3.09 ERA. In those 20 games, in which she started 17, she struck out 48, walked 37, while throwing 15 complete games. Gogel was a third-team selection back in 2024.

Notre Dame of Maryland University finished 11-19 overall and a 6-9 mark in the United East, advancing to the postseason for the third straight season.
