Box Score Baltimore, Md. -- Notre Dame of Maryland University's lacrosse team visited crosstown rival Goucher College Wednesday.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Walter (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) and freshmen Megan Morales (Joppa, Md./Catholic) paced the offense with two goals each. Freshman Kirstin McGee (Middle River, Md./Catholic) added a goal and an assist.
Morales captured seven draw controls. In goal, junior De'Ja Martin (Salisbury, Md./Wicomico) notched nine saves.
The Gophers jumped out to an early 3-0 when Morales found the net in the eighth minute. Morales posted her second of the day to open the second half to narrow the score. McGee then scored 10 minutes later on a free position shot. Walter finished the Notre Dame scoring by scoring back-to-back in the final six minutes of the game. Goucher would end up defeating the Gators 16-5.
Notre Dame will look to rebound as they return to Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Saturday as they visit Centenary College.
