Box Score La Plume, Pa. -- Keystone College outscored the Notre Dame of Maryland University lacrosse team 4-1 in the final 20 minutes of the second half to best the Gators 12-9 in a Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup.
The Gators were led by freshman
Megan Morales (Joppa, Md./Catholic) posted four goals while junior
Khamaree Owens (Waldorf, Md./Westlake) added three goals. Junior
Carrie Naylor (Elkridge, Md./Mount de Sales) chipped in with a goal, and freshman
Bryanne Baskette (Baltimore, Md./Dundalk) scored her first career goal in the effort.
Kirstin McGee (Middle River, Md./Catholic) notched five ground balls to lead Notre Dame, and tied with Owens for the team lead in draw controls with three. Senior
Jessica Marx (Edgewood, Md./Joppatowne) recorded six caused turnovers and also grabbed four ground balls.

De'Ja Martin (Salisbury, Md./Wicomico) finished with 12 saves.
Owens answered a Keystone goal to tie the game at 1-1 five minutes into the game. The hosts responded with a two-goal rally within 30 seconds of each goal to take a 3-1 advantage with 16 minutes left in the half. Naylor narrowed the game with a free position shot at the 14:50 mark. At 10:44 remaining in the half, McGee found Baskette to tie the game, then Owens scored 30 seconds later to give Notre Dame their first lead of the game. After the Giants tied the score, Morales scored her first goal of the game, followed by Keystone scoring again to send the game to the break with a 5-5 tie.
To open the second half, Morales would exchange goals with Keystone to move the score to a 7-7 in less than three minutes. The hosts would take a lead with 25:21 left to play, which Owens answered to tie the game at 8-8 with 21:25 remaining in the game.
The Giants went on to score to goals before Morales tallied her fourth goal of the game to pull within 10-9 with just under 14 minutes left on the clock. Unfortunately it would not be enough as KC added two more goals in the final three minutes to take the 12-9 victory.
Notre Dame will return to action Wednesday as they will host Rosemont College on Alumnae Field.
