Gators Suffer Loss to Immaculata

Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa. – Notre Dame lacrosse was the first to strike in their Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup against Immaculata University Tuesday evening.  In their game under the lights, five players recorded goals for the Gators, but the Mighty Macs ended Notre Dame's two-game win streak, 21-13.

Sophomore Megan Morales led the Gators with five goals and six draw controls.  Junior Kaitlyn Walter added four goals in the effort, while sophomore Kirstin McGee added to her league leading assists, finishing the game with three.  Walter, freshman Summer Corey, and senior Stephanie Roche each went 1-for-1 in free position shots, with Corey ending the game with two goals. 

Walter put the Gators on the board first, notching her first goal of the game in the first two minutes of play.  Immaculata answered a minute later, tying the game at one apiece. 

After trading shot attempts, Notre Dame regained the lead five-minutes later off a goal by Morales.  A quick score by Immcaulata on their next possession saw the score tied for a second time.  The Mighty Macs scored four goals in two minutes to take a 5-2 lead over the Gators.

With 14 minutes left in the first half, a goal by Walter from McGee snapped Immaculata's five-goal run.  The Gators scored the last two goals of the half, going into halftime down four, 10-6. 
Immaculata continued the pressure in the second half, outscoring Notre Dame 11-7. 

Senior goalie De'Ja Martin posted 10 saves in the game, her seventh game this season with 10 or more saves.

The Gators move to 3-6 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

Notre Dame will have a week off from play until the host Cabrini on April 18th at 4:00 p.m.
