Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – Six Gators scored in their Colonial States Athletic Conference win over Cedar Crest and is now tied for fifth in the conference rankings. Notre Dame jumped out to a 10-goal lead over the Falcons before giving up a goal in the first half. The Gators claimed a 16-4 win over Cedar Crest.
Four different players recorded the first four goals for Notre Dame, with junior
Katherine Salim notching the first goal and her fourth of the season, with just under three minutes to open the game. Sophomore
Megan Morales, junior
Kaitlyn Walter, and freshman
Summer Corey followed up with goals over the next two minutes.
With 15 minutes on the clock, Notre Dame with a 10 goal lead, Cedar Crest notched their first goal of the game. A minute later, Walter found the back of the goal off a pass from sophomore
Kirstin McGee.
With 38 seconds left in the half, Morales tallied her third goal of the game to give the Gators a 13-2 lead.
The Gators scored the first three goals of the second half over the first 15 minutes of play. McGee's goal in the 16
th minute would be the last goal for Notre Dame. The Gators would give up two from Cedar Crest to close out the game.
Walter paced the team with five goals, followed by Corey with four. Morales scored all three of her goals in the first half. Salim finished with two goals. Freshman
Jessica Wells recorded her first career goal late in the first half.
Senior goalie
De'Ja Martin had three saves in the Gator victory. McGee added to her league leading assist total, finishing the game with three.
Notre Dame moves to 4-7 overall and 4-4 in conference play. The Gators will celebrate seniors De'Ja Martin,
Briana Johnson,
Brittany Smith, and
Stephanie Roche, Saturday as they host Gwynedd Mercy.
