Box Score 2 BALTIMORE, Md. – Notre Dame softball has two conference games back-to-back to close out their 2017 season.
Yesterday, the team dropped their doubleheader against Cabrini University, 10-0 and 11-0. Senior
Morgan Ward led the team at the plate, posting two hits, one that nearly went out of the fence for a double. She went .500 at the plate over both games. Freshman
Sydney Salgado also recorded a double for the Gators. In the field, freshman
Naudiya Hopkins had three putouts, while sophomore
Darby King recorded two in her first career game for the Gators. The Gators are 5-20-1 overall and 4-14 in conference play with four games remaining.
On Friday, the Gators will travel to Immaculata for their last road game of the season. The Mighty Macs are 19-13 overall and 14-4 in conference play. Immaculata dropped their doubleheader against Neumann University and split against Centenary and Cedar Crest this season. Freshman Abigail Carter leads the team at the plate with a .452 batting average. She has a team leading, 52 hits. Pitching for the Mighty Macs, sophomore Jessica Bormann and freshman Michaela Petito combine for 96 strikeouts.

On Saturday, Notre Dame will celebrate their three four-year seniors
Margaret Pedersen, Morgan Ward, and
Wendi Winkelman on Senior Day.
The Gators will be facing off against CSAC opponent Clarks Summit University who is 8-22 overall and 3-14 in conference play. The Defenders swept Rosemont on Wednesday and took one game from Cairn. Summit has four players batting over .300 for the season with Alyssa Rockefeller and Lauren Shepherd combining for 97 hits and 58 RBIs.
Notre Dame's finale will be played at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Md. The doubleheader will begin at 1:00 p.m. Senior recognition will be between games.
