Box Score ROSEMONT, Pa. – Notre Dame lacrosse picked up another conference win this season, on the road Monday at Rosemont, 17-4. The Gators posted 17 goals in the win, their largest point total and win margin of the season.
The Gators were led in scoring by sophomore
Megan Morales and freshman
Summer Corey with five goals apiece. Morales and Corey both registered an assist in the game, but junior
Kaitlyn Walter paced the team with three, while also posting two goals.
Senior
Brittany Smith registered a team-high, six draw-controls, with five ground balls and a goal, while sophomore Kirsten McGee led the team in groundballs with six. McGee, still leading the CSAC in assists per game, tallied two in the win, while also recording two goals. Senior
Stephanie Roche posted her first career-goal in her first game this season for the Gators.
Senior goalie,
De'Ja Martin had eight saves in the game, only allowing four goals for her best performance this season.
Overall seven different players posted goals in the game.
Notre Dame took an early lead in the game, going up by three before the Ravens posted their first goal of the game in the first 10 minutes of play. Over the next six minutes, the Gators would outscore Rosemont 5-0. The Gators would find the back of the goal three more times before the end of the half, Notre Dame up, 11-2.
To open up the second half, Morales posted an early goal in the first minute, now putting the Gators up by 10. In the second half, Notre Dame narrowly out-shot Rosemont, 9-8, but outscored them 6-2.
Notre Dame will have the rest of the week off before they host CSAC opponent Centenary, Saturday at the U.S. Lacrosse National Training Facility in Sparks, Md. Game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
