Box Score 2 ROSEMONT, Pa. – Notre Dame softball traveled to Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Rosemont College Friday for their first of two road doubleheaders to close out the 2018 season.
In game one against the Ravens, the Gators scored one run in the fourth, but eventually fell, 9-1. Junior
Samantha Kastner helped NDMU get on the board, posting a lead-off triple. Sophomore
Naudiya Hopkins recorded the RBI, reaching on a single to left field.
In game two, Notre Dame and Rosemont went scoreless through the first three innings. In the top of the fourth, sophomore
Hanna Morseman scored after posting a double with two outs. Freshman
Rena Dyson registered her first hit of the game, scoring Morseman from second. In the bottom of the fourth, NDMU gave up five runs to Rosemont and could not recover, falling in seven innings, 6-2.
Morseman and Dyson led the Gators at the plate, posting .400 batting averages over both games. Both posted two hits and an RBI, while Morseman added to her team-leading, eight doubles. Sophomore
Isa Carunungan also posted two hits against the Ravens, one of which was a double in game one. She now has six doubles this season.
Pitching for the Gators, Morseman had three strikeouts against Rosemont in game one.
The Gators will finish their season tomorrow, on the road at CSAC opponent, Neumann University.
