Box Score 2 ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Notre Dame softball team traveled to Cedar Crest College for a Colonial States Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon. In game one, the Gators went scoreless falling to the Falcons, 17-0. In the second game, Notre Dame took an early lead in the first inning, but eventually fell, 29-5.
At the plate, freshman
Lucy Polvinale hit for .333 over both games. She recorded one hit and one RBI in three at bats and also scored a run. Junior
Madison King recorded two RBIs in the second game, helping score runs in the first and fifth innings. Sophomores
Naudiya Hopkins and
Hanna Morseman, junior
Samantha Kastner, and freshman
Maya Lazaro also registered hits in the doubleheader, while Kastner and Morseman also tallied an RBI. Morseman leads the team this season with four RBIs.
The Gators will host three conference opponents next week. On Tuesday, the Gators will travel to Clarks Summit University for a makeup game originally scheduled for earlier this season. On Friday and Saturday, the Gators will be home against Gwynedd Mercy and Marywood University, respectively.
