ROSEMONT, Pa. – For the second consecutive week, the Notre Dame basketball team had two student-athlete earn weekly recognitions from the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Last week, the Gators went 1-1, falling to local rival Goucher College on Tuesday and then defeating Cedar Crest College in their first CSAC game of the season on Saturday.
For the second consecutive week, sophomore
Daija Fitchett earned a top honor from the conference, being named the CSAC Defensive Player of the Week. This is Fitchett's first DPOTW honor and fourth weekly honor from the conference in her career. Last week, Fitchett averaged 15.5 points per and 12.5 rebounds. Defensively, Fitchett led the team with 16 defensive rebounds, and also added five steals and three blocks. In both games this week, she finished with a double-double.
For the first time in her career, freshman
Ayana Brim was named to the CSAC Weekly Honor Roll. Brim also had an impressive week, averaging a double-double. She finished the week with 32 points and 24 rebounds. Offensively, she also posted five assists and shot .600 from the floor and .615 from the free throw line. Brim now had three double-doubles this season, including the two last week.
