Sara Morales and Emma Alascia Named to All-CSAC

EBALTIMORE – Notre Dame of Maryland University junior midfielder Sara Morales and sophomore forward Emma Alascia are members of the 2021 Colonial States Athletics Conference All-Conference Teams as announced by the league on Monday. Morales and Alascia were both selected to the Honorable Mention All-CSAC team, selected by the league coaches.

Morales was awarded the CSAC All-Sportsmanship honor for the second time. She last won the award in 2019.

Morales was strong in the middle for the Gators all year long. The Captain led Notre Dame with 14 shots on goal in addition to tallying three goals and two assists for eight total points. Morales' most impressive solo act came on a 32-yard free-kick in Notre Dame's 4-0 win against Saint Elizabeth. She went on to score two goals at Valley Forge as the Gators fought for playoffs positioning. 

In her first season suiting up for the Gators, Alascia proved to be a difference-maker on the attack, providing a great change of pace and excellent goal-scoring ability. She ended the season with the second-most points at 11 total. Alascia was tied for second on the team with four goals and came in tied at first amongst the Gators assist leaders. 

Notre Dame (Md.) have clinched the 5th seed in the CSAC playoffs and will visit 4th seeded Cairn (8-7-1, 5-2-1) later this evening at 6 p.m. The Gators will make its return to the conference championships for the first time since the 2019 season

Notre Dame will wrap up the regular season at 4-5 in the CSAC and 5-8 overall.
