ROSEMONT, Pa. – Gators battery mates
Miranda Burton and
Jessie Leatherwood earned Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Honor Roll mention for conference softball players of the week.
Miranda Burton smashed two homeruns and a double against Clarks Summit last Wednesday. She would finish the day 4-for-8 with three RBI and three runs scored across the doubleheader. The Gators catcher would also catch four base runners stealing between games with Clarks Summit and Rosemont.
Jessie Leatherwood started three of four games last week, and struck out a total of 28 batters in 19.1 IP. In game two versus Rosemont, she didn't allow a hit through three innings. At the plate, Leatherwood has a five game hitting streak, and last week went a combined 7-for-12 with a double and four RBI, raising her batting average to .444 on the season.
Both sophomores will be in action as the Gators take on Clarks Summit today at 3:00pm.
