BALTIMORE, MD – The Colonial States Athletic Conference league office has announced the 2022 Women's Lacrosse End of Year Awards with
Sara Morales receiving the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year Award and Head Coach
Kari-lei Berry named Coach of the Year.
The junior midfielder earned first-team All-CSAC selection, after accumulating a team-high 72 goals and 93 points. She caused 26 turnovers and had 94 draw controls. With 93 points on the year to this point, Morales is 4th on the program's all-time points list and second in draw controls won.
Five Gators were named to the All-CSAC first and second-team. Jade Stewart joined Morales as a first-team selection as an attacker after leading the league in assists. At 45 total on the season, She is tied with (Erin Sturgis, 2002) for the school single-season assists record. Stewart received multiple nominations for 2022 Rookie of the Year won by Bryn Athyn's freshman midfielder Shea Gormley.
On the All-CSAC second-team, Midfielder Brooke Siebert led the Gators with 27 caused turnovers while also tailing 58 points off 49 goals and seven assists. She finished second on the team in goals and fifth amongst CSAC points leaders. Seibert led the team with 36 groundballs and came in second with 57 draws won.
Sarah Generoso joined Siebert and was named to the All-CSAC second-team as a midfielder after making the transition from the goal to the midfield after four games. She provided reinforcements for the Notre Dame offense scoring 20 goals and seven assists for 27 points in her rookie season. She collected 19 groundballs and added 23 draw controls won. Generoso was awarded the All-Sportsmanship award by the conference.
Averee Radonovich was named to the All-CSAC second-team for her contributions to the Gators' defense. A leader in the defensive backfield, Radonovich displayed elite pace, shutting down opponents' attacks with clears that led to NDMU scores. She ended the year with two goals, four points and 13 groundballs to go along with nine caused turnovers.
This season, the Gators wrapped up the regular season 7-5 with a 5-1 record in the CSAC play. Coach Berry and the 2022 team was awarded the 3-D Award, recognizing the team that best demonstrates the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
