Week Recap: Notre Dame of Maryland University Athletics 10/22-10/23

Women's Volleyball 

Chambersburg- The NDMU Women's Volleyball Team faced a thrilling victory against Wilson College in a competitive three-set match this past Saturday, Oct. 19. The set scores were 25-15, 28-26, and 25-14.  

NDMU opened the first set with an aggressive attack against Wilson, scoring the first four points of the match and establishing a strong presence early on. The Gators maintained a powerful offensive front throughout, led by Ciarra Bockstie with 7 kills, Myla Palmer adding another 7, and Jade Stewart contributing 5 to the scoreboard. This strong performance helped the Gators dominate the match. 

NDMU's defense was equally solid, anchored by Paulina Hernandez with 15 digs, Emma Mueller with 11, and Candace Forgach-Aguilar with 7. Hernandez also made a notable impact with four aces, while Natalie Newton added three more. Bockstie excelled on both offense and defense, contributing 5 blocks to secure NDMU's advantage. 

Men's Soccer 

Baltimore- The NDMU Men's Soccer Team faced a victorious match against Gallaudet Universuity this past Wednesday, Oct. 23 with a score of 9-0.  

The NDMU Men's Soccer team came out of the gate strong in their matchup against Gallaudet, setting an intense pace from the start. Within just the first nine minutes, the Gators struck three times, with goals from Adrian Andersen, Tassilo Lehmkuhl, and Carter Hafez, establishing early dominance. As the first half progressed, NDMU continued to capitalize on their offensive momentum, with Hector Alvarez and Cristo Sanchez Cabrera each adding another goal to further widen the lead. 

The Gators maintained relentless pressure throughout the second half. Cristo Sanchez Cabrera netted another goal, followed by two impressive strikes from Athanasios Ziliaskopoulos. Elias Eidet delivered the final blow, rounding out the match with a strong finish for NDMU. In a display of teamwork and determination, the Gators' offense proved unstoppable, marking an emphatic victory over Gallaudet. 

Women's Soccer 

Baltimore- The NDMU Women's Soccer Team faced a difficult challenge against Wilson College, resulting in a 5-0 loss this past Tuesday, Oct. 22.  

Wilson College started the game strong, launching multiple attacks that tested NDMU's defense early on. Goalkeeper Leah Hasberry was kept busy throughout the match, making an impressive total of 19 saves. In response to Wilson's aggressive plays, the Gators managed to mount an impressive offensive effort. Jillian Seay made the Gators' only shot on goal in the last 10 minutes in an attempt to keep them in the game, but her shot was saved by Wilson's goalkeeper.
