Latham, N.Y.- The United East announced its weekly awards on Monday, Apr. 22 with NDMU Softball's Jessie Leatherwood winning Skye Division Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.   

Leatherwood had another outstanding week, going 2-1 in the circle, earning victories over Clarks Summit University and Rosemont College. Leatherwood opened the week by blanking Clarks Summit University holding the defenders to only three hits while setting a new single game school record for strike outs with 16. She was once again impressive in NDMU's match up with Wilson College allowing three runs on five hits while striking out eight. Leatherwood closed out the week, by earning a victory over Rosemont College, holding the Ravens to two runs on six hits while fanning seven. 

In the United East this season, Leatherwood ranks sixth in ERA with a 2.24, fifth in wins with nine, fourth in strikeouts with 96 and has held opponents to the lowest batting average at .197.  

The Gators will head to Saint Elizabeth University for a United East doubleheader on Wednesday, Apr. 24. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
