BALTIMORE, MD - Despite a record setting performance by freshman goalie Mindy Daugherty (Hampstead, MD/North Carroll), College of Notre Dame fell to Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Immaculata, 6-0, Thursday afternoon at Alumnae Field.
Daugherty led the Gators (3-13-1 overall/2-7 CSAC), registering a program record for saves in a game with 23 stops. Daugherty topped Laura Cool's program record for saves in a game of 22, set back on September 5, 1999 in a 1-1 tie against York College.
Notre Dame held Immaculata (9-6-3/6-3-1) to just one goal in the first half when Zena Tracey scored in the 24th minute off an assist from Julia Fabbroni. The Mighty Macs broke the game open in the early part of the second half, scoring three goals in a four minute span to make the score 4-0. Tracey connected on her third goal of the afternoon in the 72nd minute to complete the hat trick and push the score to 5-0 in Immaculata's favor. Fabbroni tallied the final goal of the game in the 84th minute to give the Mighty Macs the 6-0 victory.
Immaculata out shot Notre Dame by a 38-2 margin and had a 12-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Gators will play their final home game of the season on Saturday when they host CSAC powerhouse Centenary at 1 p.m.
