Blazers Down Gator Basketball

Frederick, MD – College of Notre Dame of Maryland Basketball falls to non-conference opponent Hood College Tuesday evening 71-51.

The Gators shot an impress 75% from the free throw line against the Blazers. India Scott and Kelcy Bye were perfect from the foul line, while senior Catherine Subrizi went six for eight.

Hood opened up an early ten point lead over Notre Dame, that the Gators could not over come. The closest margin between the Gators and Blazers was five points with 14:53 remaining. From that point on Hood widened their point margin over Notre Dame and held a 42-27 advantage at halftime.

College of Notre Dame used strong play on the boards in the second half to try and decrease Hoods advantage. The Gators pulled down 21 rebounds and including eight offensive rebounds. College of Notre Dame converted the offensive rebounds into ten points. Even with the strong offensive play the Blazers were able to hold a significant margin over the Gators. In the final six and a half minutes of regulation Notre Dame held Hood scoreless going on a 12-0 run, but eventually fell 71-51.

College of Notre Dame opponents up Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Monday, November 29th against Cabrini College at 7p.m.
