Baltimore, Md. – October 5, 2011 – The Notre Dame of Maryland University soccer team won its second game in a row, earning a hard fought 3-0 win over Rosemont College.
Notre Dame now stands at 5-4 and 3-2 in the CSAC, while Rosemont moves to 3-5-1 and 2-3-1 in league play.
The Gators outshot the Ravens 8-3 and led 2-0 in corner kicks, but the game remained scoreless going into the halftime break. Just five minutes into the second half, junior

Ashley Cumberland (Baltimore/Kenwood) had a shot go just left of the goal cage.
The Gators threatened again 22 minutes into the second half, with Cumberland forcing Ravens goalkeeper Gina Donnelly to make one of her four saves.
Freshman Gabrielle Rehmeyer (Baton Rouge, La./Waterford Kamhlaba) then sent another shot over the top of the net off of Donnelly’s deflection.

Emily Horst (Hagerstown/Boonsboro) scored her first collegiate goal off a pass from classmate
Michelle Phillips (Salisbury/James M. Bennett) to give the Gators a 1-0 lead. After peppering Donnelly with 17 shots in the second half, Phillips took a shot with just 34 seconds left on the clock to give the Gators an insurance goal.
After the Ravens gained possession off the whistle, junior
Kelsey Kempf (Huntingtown) converted one of her game -high ten shots and put her seventh goal of the season in the net with only sixteen seconds remaining in the game.
Freshman goalkeeper
Heather Lancellotti (Perry Hall) made five saves to earn her second shutout in a row.
The Gators will continue their conference homestand when they host Marywood University on Saturday, October 8 for a 1:00 p.m. tilt on Alumnae Field.
