Swimming Claims Victory At Hollins

Roanoke, Va. --  Notre Dame of Maryland University's swimming team claimed their second team victory of the season by defeating Hollins University 91-83.

The Gators were led by sophomore Emily Jordan (Bel Air, Md./ C. Milton Wright) and junior Jessi Duffy (Bel Air, Md./ C. Milton Wright) with three victories each. Jordan placed first in the 400 yard individual medley (5:09.32), the 100 yard butterly (1:07.66), and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:16.00). Duffy earned victories in the 1650 yard freestyle (19:45.39), the 50 yard freestyle (28.03), and the 100 yard backstroke (1:09.22). Freshman Margaret Pedersen (Brick, N.J./ Brick Township) also contributed a victory in the 500 yard freestyle (6:36.63), while junior Tawny Cevora (Norfolk, Va./ Lake Taylor) claimed one of her own in the 100 yard freestyle (1:12.24). 

The Gators will return to the water January 18th and will face Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Bridgewater College.
