Greensboro, N.C. -- The Notre Dame of Maryland University swim team competed in the final day of Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships where the Gators posted either season or personal bests in every event.
To open the day, freshman
Summer Stevens (Lake Worth, Fla. / Park Vista) posted a personal best in the 200-yard backstroke by nine seconds in a time of 3:15.16.
In the 100-yard freestyle, freshman
Molly Wolanski (Athens, Pa.) recorded a personal best by six seconds in 1:21.28, finishing in 24
th.
Senior
Emily Jordan (Bel Air, Md. / C. Milton Wright) and sophomore
Lindsey Webb (Hollywood, Md. / Leonardtown) competed in the 200-yard breaststroke where Webb posted a personal best by nine seconds in 3:16.09, finishing 22
nd. Jordan saw a season best in 2:38.44, placing her 9
th and qualifying her for the finals later in the meet.
In the 200-yard butterfly, junior
Julianna Randazzo (Glen Burnie, Md.) finished in 3:21.92, recording a season best and qualifying her for the finals.
The team of junior
Margaret Pedersen (Brick, N.J.), Randazzo, Webb, and Jordan finished in 8
th place in the 400-yard freestyle relay, qualifying for finals. The Gators saw a season best by 31 seconds in a time of 4:35.53 with several season bests split times.
In the final event of the preliminaries, Pedersen swam the 1650-yard freestyle in a time of 22:51.68, placing 10
th overall.
In the finals, Jordan placed 10
th overall in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing with a season best in a time of 2:37.01. Randazzo finished 15
th in the finals of the 200-yard butterfly, with a season best time of 3:20.15. To complete the day of competition, the team of Pedersen, Randazzo, Webb, and Jordan competed in the finals for the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team finished in 4:35.98, claiming 8
th place.
Notre Dame finished the weekend with 114 overall points, finishing in 8
th place overall out of 10 teams.
During the ODAC Championships, the ODAC recognized both lone senior Emily Jordan and the Notre Dame swim program. With the conclusion of Sunday's meet, Notre Dame's historic swim program comes to an end. Hall of Famer, Head Coach Curt Jordan, leaves behind a legacy spanning 27 years and completes his career as one of the winningest coaches in Notre Dame of Maryland's history.
