Box Score Baltimore, Md. --  A late rally wouldn't be enough as Notre Dame of Maryland University fell to College of New Rochelle in the championship game of the Women's College Tip-Off Tournament. 

The first half saw four lead changes and six tied scores before the visiting Blue Angels would end the half on a run to take a 40-32 lead.  New Rochelle's continued their rally into the second half as they would take the largest lead of the night at 52-35.  Notre Dame answered with six points to pull within 11 with ust under 13 minutes remaining, but CNR would rebound and push their lead back to 16 points with 7:41 left.  Notre Dame responded and continued to chip away, bringing the deficit to within seven points with 45 seconds remaining, but several last minute foul shots helped the Blue Angels hold the lead, defeating the Gators 73-63.  

Notre Dame saw three player in double digits scoring and two with double-doubles. The Gators were led by Freshman Allyson Whitacre (Jarrestsville, Md./ North Harford) and Zaria Comer (Leesburg, Va./ Tuscarora) with their first career double-double, as Whitacre had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Comer added 13 points and 13 rebounds.  Freshman Shelby Cochran (Wilmingtown, Del./ Hodgson Vo-Tech) contributed 13 points for the Gators, going 5-6 from the free throw line.  Meghan O'Connor (Oxford, Pa.) paced the defense with four steals.  

Freshman Stephanie Roche (Baltimore, Md./ Perry Hall) was selected to the All-Tournament Team wrapping up the weekend with 18 total points, seven rebounds, nine assists, and three steals. 

The Gators, 1-1 on the season, are currently averaging 63 points a game, more than double last season's average.  Notre Dame will return to action on Thursday as they will host their cross-town rival Goucher College.
