Late Rally Not Enough as Gators Fall at Chatham

Box Score Pittsburgh, Pa. --  Notre Dame of Maryland University finished their trip to Pittsburgh Tuesday afternoon as they took on former Atlantic Women's College Conference rival Chatham University in their final basketball game before winter break.

The Cougars jumped out ahead early, leading 45-28 at half, while the Gators defense held the Cougars to only 29 second half points. With under six minutes to play the Gators went on a 12-0 run, but time would expire as the Gators fell to the hosts 74-57

Leading the Gators in scoring were freshman Allyson Whitacre (Jarrettsville, Md. / North Harford) and Stephanie Roche (Baltimore, Md. / Perry Hall) with 14 points each.  Freshman Zaria Comer (Leesburg, Va. / Tuscarora) reeled in team high 10 rebounds followed by Meghan O'Connor (Oxford, Pa.) with eight.  As a team the Gators tallied 18 offensive rebounds.

The basketball will now see a three week break in action until January 7, when they will host Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Gwynedd Mercy University.
